Its Time The UK Cannabis Law Was Reformed And Heres Why Legalised Cannabis is supported by more than half of Britons and thats a well known fact these days yet nothing is being done about this by the UK Government which makes no sense especially when there are major medical breakthroughs all over the world the now with tons of evidence behind them saving and helping thousands of people. The UK cannabis law when you look at it also makes no sense at all the law states that cannabis is a schedule 1 class B drug which means it has NO medical value and that you will get some sort of punishment from being in possession if you get caught which can vary from community service to 14 years in jail. So lets get this part straight the UK Government says cannabis has no medical value and they have made it a schedule 1 drug but yet, The Government had a company called GW Pharmaceuticals develop a drug for MS patients call SATIVEX which is a cannabis based UK medicine? That doesn't sound right that to me sounds like cannabis isnt really a schedule 1 drug and that it does have at least some sort of evidence of medicinal value if the UK Government have created a cannabis based drug to help MS patients... So where do they get the reason to make cannabis a schedule 1 drug? Believe it or not they dont actually have any reasons. More evidence to show people benefit from cannabis and that it does have a proven medical value is in places like America and Australia where cannabis is decriminalized to some extent and can be legally used for medical use and has been proven time and time again to treat and cure things like cancer and there is tons of evidence behind the claims now to prove it aswel. The UK Government also had a top well respected psychiatrist and neuropsychopharmacologist specialising in the research of drugs that affect the brain and conditions such as addiction, anxiety and sleep called Professor David Nutt, He was the UKs top leading chief drugs adviser. Professor David Nutt proved that cannabis was a fairly safe drug and that it was alot less harmful than alcohol or tobacco and he was sacked for it. Why? Well once again they didnt actually have a reason they just claimed they had lost confidence in him. So why does cannabis have this harsh law thats heavily reinforced everyday when the law repeatedly contradicts itself and doesnt make any sense and helps no one except drug dealers and corporations? Things just aren't adding up nothing is making sense. Also did i mention cannabis is the most renewable resource on the planet and can be used to make Paper, Plastic, Fuel, Clothes, Concrete and Building Supplies, Medicine, Health Foods and Beverages and it can even be used for Chemical Cleanups and to get rid of Radiation. Cannabis has a huge history behind it, It was the number one product for everything it was the most used and best resource in history cannabis was beneficial in everyway, In the UK Elizabeth I of England imposed a £5 fine on any eligible landowner who refused to grow cannabis and in America the Virginia Assembly passed legislation requiring every farmer to grow hemp. Hemp was also allowed to be exchanged as legal tender in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland. Cannabis began to stop being used as often after the slave trade ended because it wasn't as easy to process as cotton was at the time so people switched to cotton over hemp for that time being. Cannabis was used in Britain right up until September 28th 1925 were for no proven or even real reasons cannabis was banned, It was added to the agenda of the 1925 Convention On Narcotics Control because Egypt and Turkey proposed it. Both countries had histories of prohibition based on nothing but interpretations of Islamic law. Then in the 1930s in America money was poured into propaganda schemes and some real damage was done to the image of cannabis by Harry J. Anslinger (First commissioner of the U.S. Treasury Department's Federal Bureau of Narcotics) and William Randolph Hearst (Who owned the newspaper industry and built the nation’s largest newspaper chain) The reason behind that was a thing called a Decorticator was invented and it brought hemp back into the light because it made cannabis just as easy as to process as cotton again, However William Randolph Hearst didn't want to spend any of his money converting all his news paper industry over to hemp so he instead printed propaganda in his news papers about a new drug called "marijuana" that was causing "blacks and mexicans who smoked it to stare at and rape white woman" which was nothing but racist lies then came along a film called Refer Madness, People fell for the lies and propaganda and wanted this new "marijuana" drug outlawed, No one realized it was cannabis that was being slandered, No one realized the name "marijuana" had been branded to the cannabis plant by William Randolph Hearst in his papers and that it was all for nothing but a money making scheme on his behalf, Marijuana actually ment wild mexican tobacco and had nothing to do with cannabis at all. When cannabis was banned people started to realize that it was there well known and well used resource hemp that had been banned but the law never got changed back because it was on the transition of everyone getting back into using hemp again so alot of people were still using cotton and didn't bother about it also people were worried incase cannabis really did do all the things that the propaganda had said it did. Could any of that have anything to do with why cannabis is still illegal now? Well its a fact that hemp has alot of uses and could potentially put alot of big companies and corporations like the oil industry, The tree industry and Big Pharma out of business, Is it possible that these companies are funding the prohibition of cannabis because its cheaper for them to do that than it would be to compete with it if it was legal? That would then start to make sense of the laws and the current state of affairs but who knows, Whatever the reason though the cannabis issue needs addressed now. Cannabis needs to be brought to attention and one way or another the laws need to be justified and make sense because right now nothing about cannabis laws make sense, The only thing that makes sense is ignorance towards this subject needs to stop and people need to start and think about things for themselves instead of following public opinion thats what got us in this mess, We could have the cure for cancer growing in our cupboards and saving lives, We could be stopping the rainforests being cut down and saving animals habitats and we could be stopping people from getting unjust jail sentences and having there lives ruined, All this could change literally in a matter of days by just discussing this subject for real in a political and public light instead of hiding it in the dark all the time and leaving loose ends everywhere on the subject. So much could be achieved in so many ways with so many things if we just stopped and thought about real issues and worked together as an evolving species instead of being individuals doing nothing for anyone except themselves and tripping each other up constantly just to get in front. The times are changing and we have alot to change its time we all stopped the ignorance and started using the evidence thats been provided for us. There is definitely an unclear far fetched distorted background behind cannabis and a conspiracy to go with it unless you dig into it and really research it, But the main thing to remember is there are alot of real and unjust facts behind the prohibition of it and its all being suppressed from the mainstream, Someone doesn't want you or me to know the clear real truth behind it all but why? I think its time we all started asking questions and started researching things for ourselves and not just listening to what were all told, We need to question everything and ask the questions everywhere, Who knows maybe with the right knowledge and education about subjects like this we could save the world from the path of destruction its going down the now. Remember public ignorance is government bliss and everything has a reason.
